Collector Insurance New Customer Welcome Center

Thank you for trusting Classic Family Agency to submit an application to meet your collector protection needs. We hope your policy purchase experience was outstanding!

We appreciate you taking the time to check out our agency website so we can go over some important information about your new protection and familiarize you with some of the special benefits our agency offers.

Your New Collector Policy

Your new policy package generally arrives at your policy address within a week of binding coverage. At a minimum, everyone receives the following documents:

Declarations Page: Lists Named Insured, Policy #, Effective Date, Insured Property/Autos, Coverages, Limits, Deductibles, Premium.
Policy Jacket: This is the actual policy from the carrier with Insuring Agreement, Definitions, Conditions, Exclusions, etc.
Identification Cards: Vehicle policies come with ID cards that list Named Insured, Drivers, Vehicles, Effective Date, etc.

Please look over the whole package and verify everything is correct. If you have any questions, identify errors, or are missing expected documents, call the agency as soon as possible.

Canceling Your Prior Policy

We understand it can be stressful to change agencies or collector insurance carriers. We can make this an easier process by contacting your prior insurance carrier on your behalf.

We will thank them your prior carrier for their service, request they cancel your policy, and request they provide you with a refund of unearned premium. We can do this over the phone via a 3-way call. Most of our customers, however, prefer to sign a form letter that we provide and have us fax or e-mail their signed letter to the prior carrier.

Agency Assistance

Customers always have the option to call an insurance carrier directly. However, during regular agency business hours, we encourage customers to make Classic Family Agency their first point of contact. We can discuss your needs and options and submit changes on your behalf.

Customers with a need for emergency assistance when Classic Family Agency is closed are always welcome to call the agency owners, Michelle and Tom Grothouse, on their personal cell phones. Michelle's number is 817-723-4811 and Tom's number is 972-896-4179.

After-Hours Appointments

We understand that it may not always be easy to come to the agency or call during our regular business hours. We will do our best to meet with you or call you at a place and time of your convenience.

Spanish Speaking Customers

Please let us know if you would like to have your policy documents or other materials in Spanish. In addition, we have a Spanish-speaking staff person who can assist you during regular business hours.

Referral Rewards

If you felt we did a great job with your collector insurance needs, we would certainly appreciate it if you would consider referring friends or family. If someone you refer gets a quote, we'll send you a $10 gift card to show our appreciation.

You can use the Referral tab on the website to submit your referral's contact information and we'll take it from there. You can also provide our contact information to your referral. If you choose the latter option, please make sure your referral mentions your name so we'll know to send you a thank you gift card.

Collector Vehicle Claim Assistance

If you think you might have a loss, we encourage you to make Classic Family Agency your first point of contact. We can discuss your policy and deductibles, your filing options, and most of the time we can assist you with reporting the loss. You also have the option to call the insurance carrier directly using the 800 number on the declarations page or ID card.

If a claim is filed, licensed claim adjusters will review your policy, the loss facts, and make coverage determinations and payments. As your claim progresses, let us know if you have any concerns and we will contact the insurance carrier on your behalf.

Customer Appreciation Events

We invite our customers to enjoy an annual collector car show(s) at the agency or a suitable venue. Customers are also welcome to attend the shows we participate in that are listed on the Car Shows tab. Shows we host are FREE to attend and shows we participate in are well-organized and all are great opportunities for every generation to enjoy while preserving and promoting an important part of history.

Free Household Protection Reviews/Seminars

Classic Family Agency offers collector car insurance customers free, no obligation, household protection reviews to look for gaps in coverage, duplications of coverage, or unnecessary coverage on the policies protecting their regular-use auto, their residence, rental property, watercraft, motorcycles, motorhomes, life, etc. Often our collector car insurance customers opt to have us handle all of their household protection needs to provide one-stop value and convenience.

Club/Business Meeting Seminars

We can come to your club meeting or business to go over general insurance or collector insurance issues in an interactive format. We can also do free household protection reviews for persons who bring in their own insurance documents. We don't try to sell anything but if someone wants a quote they can choose to contact Classic Family Agency for an appointment at a time of their choosing.

Life Planning Assistance

Have you thought beyond auto and property insurance protection? Do you feel comfortable you are fully protected on your other assets such as boats and motorcycles? Will your loved ones will have what they need for the future if something unexpected happens to you? What about paying for college and retirement? If you are not sure you've got solid plans in place, we can talk to you about some options for you to consider.

Special Needs Families

We understand from personal experience the challenges that come with caring for someone with special needs. We would be more than happy to share our knowledge and contacts to help you or persons you know.

Children in the Agency

Tom & Michelle have six children and understand the challenges of finding caregivers, especially during regular agency business hours. You are welcome to bring your children to the agency! We have a play area with videos, coloring books, and toys. We often have kid-friendly snacks and drinks and often a staffer will join in playing with your child.
